Before you install
Does it generate art?
No. There is no image generator involved at any point. A model reads a small preview so it can see what you are describing, then writes GIMP commands — and GIMP’s own tools make the change, on your file.
Do I need an OpenAI account or an API key?
No. Chats run through GIMPBot and your credits cover the model. There is nothing to configure beyond pasting your token into the chat box once.
Do my images leave my computer?
The editing happens in your own GIMP, on your own files. The one thing sent is a small preview of the canvas, so it can see what you are describing.
What happens when it gets an edit wrong?
Every edit lands as a single undo step, so Ctrl+Z puts
you back exactly where you were. If the generated code fails outright
it reads the error and tries again, and those retries never cost a
credit.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits are bought once and stay on the account. Nothing renews and nothing charges you again.
